Residential Electrical Services | DFW Electrician Since 2009
Panel repairs, breaker fixes, GFCI upgrades, EV chargers, wiring, and more — diagnosed honestly, priced transparently, and done right across the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex.

DFW's Residential Electricians — Honest Work, No Upsells
Most electrical problems in a DFW home have a simple, affordable answer. A breaker that won't stop tripping is usually a worn breaker or an overloaded circuit — not a signal that you need a $4,000 panel replacement. A GFCI that won't reset is usually a tripped outlet somewhere upstream — not faulty wiring throughout the house. The frustration most homeowners run into isn't the problem itself. It's calling a large shop that sends someone out, leads with fear, and quotes the most expensive fix before understanding what actually needs to be done.
Epic Electrical has been doing residential electrical work across the DFW Metroplex since 2009. Father and son master electricians Mike and Griffin built this company on a straightforward principle: diagnose the real issue, explain what we found in plain language, fix what needs fixing, and leave the home clean and working. No jargon, no pressure, no upsells. If something doesn't need to be replaced, we'll tell you that too — and fix what actually does.
From a single tripping breaker to a full panel replacement, from a pre-listing inspection repair to a new EV charger circuit — we handle all of it with the same approach: find the real problem first.
1. Diagnose the Real Issue
We start by finding out what's actually wrong — not what would be most profitable to replace. Most calls we go on are simpler than the homeowner feared.
2. Explain It Clearly
We tell you what we found, what the risk is, and what the options are — in plain terms, not electrical jargon. You understand the situation before we touch anything.
3. Fix What Needs Fixing
Small repairs get handled on the same visit. Larger jobs get a transparent quote. We do the work correctly, leave the home clean, and make sure everything works before we leave.

I highly recommend Epic Electrical, I have used the on multiple projects.Posted on Jim MorganTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I encountered multiple issues with GFCI outlets, which Epic Electrical diagnosed. One problem was caused by an indoor extension cord that kept tripping the GFCI. Another GFCI tripped because the supplementary hot water heating system had burned out, so I left the breaker off. Additionally, a third GFCI tripped due to a faulty pool light. Since we weren’t using the pool light, we decided to turn the switch off. I initially anticipated that the bill would be several hundred dollars, but I was pleasantly surprised to learn that there would be no charge, as the technicians only found electrical issues that were easy to fix. I would highly recommend EPIC Electrical for their honesty, prompt appointment times, and exceptional courtesy. Residential Electrical Services We Provide
Every service below starts with an honest diagnosis. We fix what your home actually needs — nothing more.
Electrical Panel Replacement & Upgrade
Older panels — Federal Pacific, Zinsco, undersized 100-amp service — are one of the most common safety and capacity issues we see in DFW homes. We inspect the actual panel condition first and give you a straight assessment. If a replacement is genuinely needed, we quote it clearly and complete it in a single visit in most cases.
Panel Replacement →Circuit Breaker Repairs
A breaker that keeps tripping is a symptom — not a diagnosis. The cause is usually a worn breaker, an overloaded circuit, or a loose connection. We find the real cause first. If the breaker just needs to be replaced, that's a fraction of a panel replacement cost. We'll tell you which it is before recommending anything.
Breaker Repair →GFCI Outlet Installation & Repair
GFCI protection is required in kitchens, bathrooms, garages, and outdoor locations — and missing GFCI is the most common flag on DFW home inspection reports. We install exactly what's needed to bring you into code compliance, on the same visit. No extra work added in that wasn't on the list.
GFCI Services →EV Charger Installation
A Level 2 home EV charger needs a dedicated 240V, 50-amp circuit. In older DFW homes with 100-amp panels, we check your actual load capacity before recommending anything. Sometimes a circuit can be freed up. Sometimes a subpanel makes more sense than a full panel upgrade. We tell you what's actually needed — not what makes us the most money.
EV Charger Installation →Electrical Wiring Repairs
Damaged wiring, outdated aluminum branch circuit wiring, open junction boxes, and ungrounded outlets are all common in DFW homes built before 1990. We assess the actual scope — most aluminum wiring situations in DFW homes can be addressed with approved pigtailing at devices, not an automatic full rewire. We'll tell you which applies to your home.
Electrical Wiring →Dedicated Circuit Additions
Home office, EV charger, hot tub, workshop, outdoor kitchen, detached garage — these all need properly sized dedicated circuits that older DFW homes weren't originally built with. We add them correctly: right breaker size, right wire gauge, no overloaded shared circuits or extension cord workarounds.
Book a Visit →Whole Home Surge Protection
A single power surge can take out smart TVs, computers, HVAC controllers, and appliances in seconds. Whole-home surge protection installs at your main panel and protects every circuit in the house — not just the outlets with individual surge protectors. One of the best-value electrical upgrades for any DFW home.
Surge Protection →Generator Installation
DFW power outages happen — ice storms, summer heat events, and grid instability all affect the Metroplex. We install whole-home standby generators and portable generator transfer switch setups correctly, with proper load calculations and code-compliant connections. No jury-rigged hookups that void your warranty or create a backfeed hazard.
Generator Installation →Indoor & Outdoor Lighting
Recessed lighting, ceiling fan installations, under-cabinet lighting, dimmer switches, landscape lighting, and security lighting. We handle the wiring and installation correctly — circuits properly loaded, fixtures properly supported, dimmers matched to the fixture type. Everything works the way it should when we're done.
Indoor Lighting →Pre-Sale Inspection Repairs
Selling your DFW home? Inspection reports commonly flag double-tapped breakers, missing GFCI, open junction boxes, ungrounded outlets, and missing cover plates. We work directly from your inspection report and handle exactly what was flagged — same-visit repairs in most cases to keep your closing on schedule.

The Call
A homeowner's AC stopped working in the middle of a Texas summer. Another electrician had already been out and quoted a full panel replacement — over $3,000 — before the AC could be put back on. The homeowner called us for a second opinion.
What We Found
The panel was fine. The actual problem was a single burnt breaker connection on the AC circuit — a common failure point in older DFW panels caused by years of heat cycling. The breaker terminal had failed, but every other circuit in the panel was functioning correctly. Nothing else needed to be touched.
What We Did
We replaced the breaker, corrected a few small issues we noticed while we were in the panel, and had the AC running within the hour. The homeowner avoided thousands in unnecessary work and got a fast, honest repair. That's the difference between diagnosing the real problem and leading with the most expensive fix on the menu.
Why Homeowners Choose Epic Electrical
We Diagnose Before We Quote
We find out what's actually wrong before we recommend anything. Most problems have a specific cause — and most of those causes have a straightforward, affordable fix. We tell you what it is before touching anything.
Small Repairs Done on the Same Visit
If the fix is straightforward, we handle it while we're already there. We don't schedule a separate appointment just to run up billable hours. You called us with a problem — we fix the problem.
Transparent Quotes for Larger Jobs
When a job is bigger — a panel replacement, a full EV charger circuit, a subpanel addition — we give you a clear price before we start. No surprise add-ons, no moving targets mid-job.
No Jargon, No Pressure
We explain what we found in plain terms. We give you options. We tell you what actually needs to be done — and what doesn't. You make the call. We don't push upgrades you don't need to keep your lights on.
Serving the Entire DFW Metroplex
We provide residential electrical services across Dallas–Fort Worth — from mid-cities neighborhoods to outer suburbs, older 1960s homes to new construction.
Frequently Asked Questions
My breaker keeps tripping. Do I need a new panel?
Usually not. A tripping breaker is a symptom — the cause could be a worn breaker (common after 20+ years), an overloaded circuit, a loose connection at the terminal, or in some cases an undersized panel. We diagnose the actual cause first. A worn breaker replacement typically costs $150–$300. A panel replacement is only recommended when the panel itself is genuinely the problem — not as a default answer to every tripping breaker call. More on breaker repairs →
What does a home electrical inspection involve?
We walk through your panel, check visible wiring, test outlets and GFCI protection, look for double-tapped breakers, open junction boxes, and any flagged items from a real estate inspection report. We tell you what we find in plain terms, explain any risk level, and give you a clear quote for anything that needs to be addressed. Pre-sale inspections are one of our most common calls — Arlington, NRH, Hurst, Bedford, and the mid-cities generate a lot of real estate inspection repair work. Schedule an inspection →
How do I know if my home has a Federal Pacific or Zinsco panel?
Open your panel door and look at the brand label on the breaker box itself. Federal Pacific panels typically say "Stab-Lok" on the breakers. Zinsco panels are often blue or gray with colorful breaker handles. Both have documented failure-to-trip safety issues. If you have one, we'll inspect the actual condition and give you a straight risk assessment — not an automatic replacement quote. More on panel replacement →
Can you add a circuit for my EV charger without replacing my whole panel?
Often yes — but it depends on your panel's actual available capacity. We run a load calculation first. In many DFW homes with 200-amp service, there's capacity for a 50-amp EV charger circuit without touching the panel. In older homes with 100-amp service, we assess what's actually being used. Sometimes freeing up a circuit is enough. Sometimes a subpanel addition is the right answer. A full panel replacement is only on the table when the math actually requires it. How quickly can you come out?
We typically schedule within one to two days for most repairs and upgrades across the DFW Metroplex. For situations with a hard deadline — a real estate closing, a safety concern, or an inspection repair — contact us directly and we'll work to get there as fast as possible.
Do you offer financing for larger electrical jobs?
Yes. For larger projects — panel replacements, full EV charger installations, generator hookups — we offer financing options so you can get the work done correctly without waiting. Learn about financing →
